Howdy, last night, my friend and fellow illustrator Ilana Kohn came over and was nice enough to sit for a quick oil portrait. It’s so difficult to photograph oil paintings without a zillion little highlights, so I spent a little time in Photoshop taking a bunch of them out… still not perfect though!

Very Cool
Hey Frank,
I found your blog through my friends (rusty zimmerman) blog. I really dig your work man, a lot.
All the Best,
Frank Gonzales
Frank, this is really lovely.
I think I saw you at the Society of Illustrators show, but I wasn’t sure what you look like so I didn’t approach to say ‘hello.’ Were you wearing a Tshirt?

Getting down and dirty with oils must feel really nice. Thanks for posting this Frank. Cheers!
Good for you back to the oils. Now huccum you plant the skull mid-point? Dynamic composition, Frank! –from your ex-design teacher!
